Robbery gang members confess to targeting women during operations
Two members of a robbery gang, identified as Chukwuma Diji, aged 35, and Michael Edochie, aged 31, have been apprehended by the Anambra State Police Command.
The duo have confessed to law enforcement officers that their criminal modus operandi always involved targeting women during their robbery operations.
The state police command shared this development via their official Facebook page, revealing that the suspects were captured by operatives from the Abagana Division.
Chukwuma and Michael were wanted for various robbery activities, wherein they would break into the homes of women, steal their belongings, and subject them to sexual assault at gunpoint.
Their criminal activities came to the attention of authorities last year when they committed a heinous crime against a married woman in Obinagu, Abagana.

Despite an attempted arrest by security forces, the perpetrators managed to evade capture and were subsequently declared fugitives.
Their luck ran out recently, as they were apprehended after breaking into an apartment occupied by a young woman and her friend. The suspects coerced one of the victims into transferring money to their account before assaulting them.
Upon their arrest, the police recovered two locally-made double barrel guns, one single barrel gun, six live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the robbers.
According to the police command, they confessed that they carried out the acts. Also, at the point of their arrest, two locally-made double barrel guns, one locally-made single barrel gun, six live cartridges and one motorcycle were said to have been recovered from them.
They are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
