NPHCDA urges use of face masks as diphtheria claims 600 lives in 19 states In a concerning update, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) reports that over 14,000 suspected cases of diphtheria have been recorded in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Notably, the epicenter of the outbreak is Kano State, where over 10,000 cases have been reported.
