State governor increases minimum wage to ₦104,000, boosts salaries for doctors, teachers

State governor increases minimum wage to ₦104,000, boosts salaries for doctors, teachers The governor has approved a new minimum wage of ₦104,000 for civil servants, a significant increase from the previous ₦76,000. The announcement was made by Governor Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday night during a meeting with labour union leaders. Uzodimma also raised the minimum wage for doctors from ₦215,000 to ₦503,000, and for tertiary institution teachers from ₦119,000 to ₦222,000. The governor acknowledged the various challenges his administration and citizens have faced, including insecurity, the COVID-19 pandemic, economic hardships, and issues...
