Wikki Tourists didn’t deduct players’ salaries – Secretary

Story from Najib Sani Adamu, Bauchi

Bauchi state football club ‘Wikki Tourists’ has denied the allegation that the management shortchange club players by deducting their salaries without authorisation by the government.

Secretary of the club Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, stated this yesterday while reacting to an allegation that suggested that the club illegally deducts the sum of N200, 000 from the salaries of each player that receives N500, 000 monthly.

According to him, the club players collect the highest salaries in the country noting however that not all players receive same amount as salaries.

The secretary explained that the team does not owe any player any salary adding that the management of the team have no stake in salary payment as players are paid in line with the civil service guidelines.

He assured that the management of the club will continue to motivate players to enhance performance and make the state proud.
