MultiChoice to appeal tribunal’s ruling on subscription rate hike MultiChoice Nigeria has announced its decision to appeal the ruling of the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) regarding the tribunal's jurisdiction over price regulation matters. On Friday, the CCPT fined MultiChoice N150 million for violating its order to halt a subscription rate hike for DStv and GOtv packages. The tribunal, based in Abuja and chaired by Thomas Okosun, also mandated a one-month free subscription for all Nigerian subscribers on these platforms.
