Terrorists kill community leader, abduct several residents in Kaduna

Story from Haruna YUSUF, Abuja

Terrorists have attacked Unguwan Liman community in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a community leader and abducting several villagers.

It was gathered that the terrorists also threatened to attack the community again.

Malam Uban Marayu, a resident of the area, confirmed the attack to newsmen on Monday.

He said the incident took place at around 10 pm on Sunday night when the hoodlums invaded the community in large numbers.

According to Marayu, the terrorists killed Maiunguwa at Unguwan Liman, three kilometers from Birnin-Gwari town, and abducted an unspecified number of male and female residents of the community. They also looted shops at the nearby Kwanan Shehu community.

May the mercy and protection of Allah continue to be with us, Marayu concluded.

Efforts to get the police to react were unsuccessful. Phone calls to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muhammad Jalige, did not connect, and there was no response to a text message sent to his telephone by our correspondent.
