As per the directive of the President, the outgoing FIRS Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Nami, has been instructed to take a three-month pre-retirement leave, in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243.

This move will lead to Mr. Nami’s eventual retirement from service on December 8, 2023.

These presidential directives have immediate effect.

“Hon. Zacch Adedeji will serve in an acting capacity for a 90-day period before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, with an initial term of four (4) years,” stated Ngelale.

Hon. Zacch Adedeji holds a first-class degree in accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University and has recently served the nation as the Special Adviser to the President on Revenue.

He has an impressive track record, including successful terms as the Oyo State Commissioner of Finance and as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
