Tinubu commissions Data Complex centre at Immigration headquarters

President Bola Tinubu officially inaugurated the Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS) Technology Innovation Complex at its headquarters in Abuja.

The president arrived at approximately 12:08 pm and was welcomed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap.

The newly commissioned Data Complex features a Command and Control Centre for regular migration, an NIS Data Centre, an ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre, an Interior Data Centre, and a 0.5KW solar power plant.

In her remarks, Comptroller-General Nandap highlighted the significance of the facility, stating, “The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex will ascertain the risk level of persons entering the country, detect irregular migration patterns and monitor unmanned borders in hard-to-reach areas nationwide.”

She emphasised the facility’s role in “setting the benchmark to use technology to secure borders and ensure the security of the nation.”

The event was attended by prominent officials, including the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and heads of various agencies.
