Tinubu mourns death of former Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Chris Alli

Former Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Chris Alli, who served between 1993 to 1994, is dead.

Mourning the deceased, President Bola Tinubu in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Chief Ajuri Ngelale described the death which occurred on Sunday as a great loss.

The President sympathized with the Alli family and the Nigerian Army, saying the deceased served his country faithfully.

“I condole with the Alli family and the Nigerian Army over the sad loss of the former Chief of Army Staff. He served his country with honour and retired meritoriously.

“May the Almighty God rest his soul and grant his family the fortitude to bear the huge void,” the President said.

Major-General Alli held other important positions in the Nigerian Army, such as Director of Military Intelligence (DMI), before his elevation to Chief of Army Staff.
