Troops in Sokoto engage in fierce gunfight with bandits, led by Bello Turji

Troops of the Nigerian Army engaged in an intense gunfight with bandits, led by the infamous Bello Turji in Sokoto State on Tuesday morning.

The clash took place near Bakin Gulbi, close to Tungar Yakuba, where local dents from Gatawa joined forces with the soldiers in the battle.

According to a counter-terrorism publication by Zagazola Makama, the confrontation began at approximately 6:00 a.m. and rapidly intensified as both sides struggled for dominance.

Reports indicated that before the confrontation, Bello Turji had convened a secret meeting in the village of Dan Tasakko, near Gatawa, raising alarms over potential security risks in the area.

Further updates are expected from the authorities while the conflict continues.
