Trump appoints Susie Wiles as 1st female Chief of Staff
United States President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of Susie Wiles, his former campaign manager, as the Chief of Staff on Thursday. This groundbreaking appointment makes Wiles the first woman to hold the position in U.S. history.
Vice President-elect JD Vance confirmed the appointment, expressing enthusiasm about Wiles’ continued role. “Susie was a pivotal asset to President Trump during the campaign and will bring the same energy to the White House. She’s a tremendous leader and a genuinely great person,” Vance stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Trump praised Wiles for her significant contributions to his campaigns in 2016, 2020, and 2024, emphasizing her strength, intelligence, and innovative approach. “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the most impressive political victories in American history. Her tireless dedication to Making America Great Again is evident, and I have no doubt she will continue to serve our country with pride,” Trump said in a statement.

President Joe Biden congratulated Trump on his victory and affirmed a commitment to a peaceful transition of power. Biden further highlighted the integrity and transparency of the electoral system and expressed appreciation to the dedicated election workers across the nation.
