Village head of Usmanu in Taraba State fatally shot by gunmen

The community of Usmanu, under Wurkun Chiefdom in Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Taraba State, is mourning the tragic loss of their esteemed leader, Malam Dagachin Auwalu, who was shot by unknown gunmen.

The assailants targeted the village head at his residence on the night of Sunday, June 2, 2024, resulting in his untimely death.

Honorable Bitrus I. Danjos JP, Chairman of Karim Lamido Local Government, officially confirmed the heart-wrenching incident on Monday, June 3, and offered sincere condolences to the grieving residents of Usmanu.

In a solemn message, Chairman Bitrus I. Danjos JP lamented the loss of Malam Auwalu, describing him as a beloved and valued member of the community.

“The recent assault by unidentified gunmen has not only shaken the foundations of Usmanu but has also deeply saddened the entire Karim Lamido Local Government,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Jalingo, Taraba State and troops with the Executive Chairman, Karim Lamido LGA Hon Bitrus Danjos visited the Usmanu village to mourn and condole the people over the tragic incident.
