The competition, held on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Abuja National Mosque, saw impressive performances from participants in various categories of Hadith memorisation and application.

– Adam Hassan Mohamed from Borno emerged victorious in the first category, which involved memorisation of 40 Hadiths, the transmission chain, and the texts. He scored 19.35 points and received a cash prize of N200,000.

– Ibrahim Umar Abubakar from Kano State won the second category, which required memorisation of 20 Hadith texts with rulings. He scored 19.6 points and was awarded N300,000.

– Yakub Bello Mohammad excelled in the third and most challenging category, which included memorisation of 20 texts, rulings, benefits, jurisprudential positions, and applications. With a score of 19.70 points, he also received N300,000.

Each winner was also honoured with plaques and certificates. According to Professor Ibrahim Makari Ahmad, one of the Imams of the Abuja National Mosque and the convener of the programme in Nigeria, these winners will represent Nigeria at the grand finale of the competition in Rabat, Morocco later this year.

Professor Makari Ahmad praised all participants, noting that the differences in scores were minimal. He emphasised that the competition’s goal was to promote the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad and enhance the study, memorisation, and application of Hadiths among young African youths.
