The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old woman, Abigail Oluwarotimi, for the brutal assault of her 15-year-old house help, Jude Joseph.
According to a police statement on Monday, Oluwarotimi used a hot metal object to inflict severe burn injuries on Joseph’s genitals and lap.
The incident allegedly occurred after Oluwarotimi falsely accused Joseph of molesting her children.
Photographs released by the police command show the extent of Joseph’s injuries, with his genital area heavily bandaged.
Following the incident, Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.

The incident was shared by the police via the @EdoPoliceNG handle on the X platform on Monday, sparking outrage and requests for justice for the young victim across social media.
