Yobe APC Chair Mohammad Gadaka attends North-East Constitutional Review, highlights ongoing nationwide membership drive

The Yobe State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka has on Monday joined stakeholders across the North-East for the region’s constitutional review held at the Borno State Hotel, Maiduguri.
The APC constitutional review aims to expand the political space by ensuring the fair representation of all people, especially women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, who is the APC Constitutional Review Committee Chairman, said the public hearing will enhance accountability and transparency not only in party administration and finances but also in leadership and governance in general.

Represented by his deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, the governor charged the stakeholders present and party members across the northeastern states to participate in the party’s ongoing membership e-registration exercise in their respective states.
In his remarks, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by the National Deputy Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, explained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that the has come to take a broader look at the party’s structure with a view to making it more inclusive and to accommodate various interests, and structure the use of power for the benefit of the vast majority.
Other dignitaries, such as the Borno State Governor (represented by his deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur), the APC National Legal Adviser and Secretary of the Constitutional Review Committee for the North East, Murtala Aliyu Kankia, and the National Deputy Women Leader, Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, stated that the review focuses on the streamlining of power, improvement of candidate selection process, and increased representation for women and youth, who remain the driving force and future of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At the APC constitutional review meeting, each of the North-East States as well as the deputy women leader and APC stakeholders presented their memoranda for onward scrutiny.
