Yobe commences constructions of 87.8km roads, drainages in 5 towns

Yobe State Government through the state ministry of works has commenced the construction of road and drainages across the five major towns of the state.
This was disclosed on Thursday by the state Commissioner, Ministry
for Works, Engineer Umaru wakil, while briefing journalists in Damaturu.
The works commissioner noted that Governor Mai Mala Buni rightly swung in to action by completing all ongoing projects initiated by his predecessor and further continue to initiate the construction of more roads, bridges drainages, culverts across the entire state.

Engineer Wakil revealed that the five major towns to benefit from the Infrastructural development include Damaturu, which have about 10 km township roads and drainage to be constructed, Potiskum have 4.2 roads and drainages and Nguru have 3.3 km roads, drainages, Gashua with 3.2 km township roads and drainages and Geidam with 4.6 km roads and drainages respectively.
He said Governor Buni’s concern to venture into infrastructural development in the state in spite of the merger resources at his disposal may not be unconnected with his zeal and enthusiasm to improve the living standards of the citizens both socially and economically.
Engineer Umaru Wakil further said arrangements have been put in place for the construction of 22.5 km road from Fika to Maluri phase 1,18 km roads from Bukarti to Toshia, reconstruction of 18 km roads from Jaji-maji to Karasuwa, 4km roads from Nguru highway to karasuwa Galu respectively.
Engineer Wakil stated that other projects to be executed includes the construction of 16km kukuri-Dawasa, 4km Fadawa-Daya, 25 km Damaturu-kalallawa-Gabai road,18 km Damchuwa -Garin Bingel road among other road across the local government areas of the state.
