Adamawa residents mobilised for Presidential visit, key roads shut
The Adamawa State Government has urged residents to troop out in large numbers to welcome President Bola Tinubu as he begins a one-day working visit to the state on Monday.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Iliya James, announced that temporary road closures would be implemented to guarantee a smooth and secure movement for the President, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Routes to be affected include the Airport–Kofare corridor through Galadima Aminu Way/Bank Road, the Jimeta Grade Interchange and Police Roundabout, Justice Buba Ardo Way, Adamawa Sunshine Express–Faro Road, alongside adjoining roads.

Residents were encouraged to give the President a warm reception, while motorists were advised to use alternative routes for their activities.
“Residents are kindly urged to come out peacefully to welcome Mr. President to our dear state while motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes for their lawful activities during the period of the closure. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation always,” the statement read.
The visit will also spotlight projects delivered by the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Among the projects lined up for inauguration are the newly completed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area, one of 21 recently constructed across the state.

President Tinubu is further expected to break ground for a permanent orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps in Malkohi, commission an ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the new Governor’s Office complex.
“These projects span key sectors including education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, security, healthcare and human capital development,” James added.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Police Command has tightened security arrangements ahead of the visit. The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, directed the deployment of specialised units such as the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad and the Crowd/Traffic Control Unit to maintain order.

Police authorities also said covert monitoring operations would take place across the state to ensure the President’s trip remains peaceful and free of incidents.
