Yobe gov’t organises prayers over insecurity

The Yobe State Government has organised rigorous prayer sessions for peaceful coexistence among citizens and security of lives and properties in the state.

Governor Mai Mala Buni set up a committee under the chairmanship of the Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Alhaji Mala Musti, to tour the 17 Local Government Areas of the state and meet traditional and religious leaders.

During the visit to the palace of the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, the team leader told the monarch that they have been assigned to mobilise prayers for peace and security in the state.

Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa appreciated the step taken by the government and said it will go a long way in promoting peace in the state and the country at large.

He commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for the wonderful idea and promised to support and cooperate with government policies and programmes that will improve the livelihood of the people.

“This will greatly assist in overcoming the security challenges, this complements our efforts, we have been praying for peace, bumper harvest and peaceful general elections come 2023”, the monarch said.
