Yobe gov’t to empower 300,000 youths with start-up capital

Story from Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has said his administration would empower 300,000 youths with startup capitals to alleviate poverty in the state.

Buni disclosed this on Friday in Damaturu during a reception organised in his honour after completing his national assignment as Caretaker Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Governor also promised to procure and distribute tricycles to youths in various local governments across the state.

According to him, youths represent majority of the population in the state, which is why his administration would do everything possible to make them productive and suitable for competitive jobs.

The Governor thanked the people for their prayers and support throughout his stay as Acting Chairman of APC, and dedicated his achievements to the people of the state who stood by him.

He also called on politicians to be selfless and of good example to others, saying stingy politicians have no place in his government.
