You’re Shifting the Blame: Group slams Gov. Bala for criticising Tinubu

The Arewa Young Leaders Forum (AYLF) has sharply criticized Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, accusing him of using his recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu as a smokescreen to obscure his own administration’s failures.

Governor Mohammed’s remarks came during the flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) local council campaign on Wednesday, where he condemned the Tinubu-led Federal Government’s policies, alleging they have inflicted significant hardship on the Nigerian populace. He also warned that such policies could jeopardize Tinubu’s re-election prospects in 2027.

In response, AYLF issued a statement on Friday, denouncing Mohammed’s comments as a calculated distraction. According to AYLF President Alhaji Ibrahim Maikifi and General Secretary Dr. Anthony Apochi, Mohammed’s criticism is a strategic move to deflect attention from his administration’s shortcomings in Bauchi State.

The forum alleges that the governor’s administration has failed to deliver essential services to the people of Bauchi, with the governor now attempting to shift blame onto the federal government.

The AYLF’s statement also suggests that Mohammed might be fueling the ongoing protests against President Tinubu, accusing him of using his influence and resources to incite unrest and chaos.

The forum labelled these actions as “political mischief,” designed to destabilise the country and distract from the governor’s governance failures.
