2 in police net for brother’s murder over late father’s property

Two siblings, Chioma Emenyonu and Mishark Emenyonu both of Uborji village in Okuku, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, are in police custody over the murder of their brother, Chinonso Emenyonu, who was killed over their late father’s property.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Imo state Police command, Orlando Ikokwu, the late Chinonso was protesting the sharing formula of the property and had allegedly picked up a matchet and threatened to cut off his mother’s head.

On getting knowledge of this, Chioma Emenyonu, brother of the deceased, had to call his mother’s brothers, Chigbu, Mishark, and Shedrack who arrived at the scene and descended on the late Chinonso, beating him to unconsciousness.

Consequently, he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

However, the corpse has been deposited in the morgue, while efforts are being made to arrest the other suspects.
