The National Universities Commission has granted full accreditation status to 20 academic programmes at Adekunle Ajasin University.
The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission.
According to the university’s Deputy Registrar for Information, Protocol and Public Relations, the accredited programmes cut across six faculties, highlighting the institution’s expanding academic reputation and compliance with national standards.
In the Faculty of Administration and Management, the programmes that received full accreditation are Accounting, Banking and Finance, and Public Administration.
The Faculty of Arts recorded full accreditation for Linguistics and Yoruba, Philosophy, and Yoruba Language.
Nine programmes from the Faculty of Education also secured full accreditation, including Adult Education, Educational Management, Education Biology, Education Mathematics, Education Physics, Education Religious Studies, Health Education, Integrated Science, and Social Studies.
The Faculty of Law received full accreditation for its Law programme, while the Faculty of Science earned approval for Biochemistry and Geology.
In the Faculty of Social Sciences, Geography and Planning Sciences, alongside Psychology, also received full accreditation status.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Olugbenga Ige, commended the NUC for maintaining quality assurance standards in Nigerian universities.
He also praised members of staff for their dedication and commitment, assuring that the institution would continue to uphold high academic standards across its programmes.
The university noted that the accreditation exercise was conducted by the NUC between October and December 2025.
