AKTH hosts the first Kano Cardiac seminar

The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has been selected to host the maiden heart seminar, according to a statement from the Information and Public Relations Unit of the hospital, the seminar is to hold on Monday, 25th November 2019.

The statement signed by Hauwa Muhd Abdullahi, Assistant Director (Information) on behalf of the Acting Chief Medical Director said the theme of the conference is “Establishing and Managing Heart Centers in Developing Countries: the Role of Multi-sectoral Collaboration”.

The main speaker is Dr. Abdullahi Ashmeg, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the National Care Hospital, Riyadh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman Task Force on Cardiac Surgery, Pan African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR).

Three topics for discussion include an Analysis of the Burden of Cardio Vascular  Disease in Nigeria and the AKTH Heart Centre Project. Cardiovascular patients requiring surgeries will be attended to as part of the seminar on Saturday, November 23 and November 24, 2019, at the AKTH Specialty Clinic by 9:00 am each day.
