Gov. Buni orders free treatment for hospitalised rainstorm victims (Photos)

The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, on Tuesday directed that free treatment be given to surviving victims of the rainstorm disaster that took place in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital on Monday.

The Governor, who gave the directive when he paid sympathy visit to victims of the Damaturu Rainstorm at the State Specialists Hospital, was also at the houses of those who died in the storm to condole with their families.

After ordering free treatment for all the victims, the governor also gave undisclosed cash donations to each of the victims on their sick bed.

He described the incident as unfortunate and prayed for their quick recovery.

He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and donated some money to their families.

Governor Buni inspected some public buildings destroyed by the storm, assuring that government would rehabilitate the affected schools and other public structures.

He urged the people to heed to weather forecast by relevant agencies such as NIMET, saying government would provide drainage in new layouts to check flooding.

Gov. Buni was accompanied by the Deputy Governor Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, the SSG Baba Malam Wali, Ag. HOS, Garba Bilal, COS Abdullahi Gashua and other top government functionaries.
