Yobe gov’t reduces working hours for civil servants during Ramadan

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved a reduction in the official working hours for state workers to support Muslim civil servants in observing the sacred practices of Ramadan

The time adjustment was communicated through a letter signed by the state’s Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Hamidu M., in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

As per the new schedule, workers in the state will now begin work at 8:00 am and finish at 3:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, workers are required to work from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.

It was emphasised that this adjustment is solely for the duration of Ramadan and that normal working hours will resume immediately after the fasting period.

The Head of Service highlighted that the time modification was essential to facilitate Muslim civil servants in participating fully in worship activities during this holy month of Ramadan.
