Bauchi State Gov’t distributes 110,000 bags of food items as Ramadan palliative

Bauchi State Government has taken a proactive step in distributing a total of one hundred and ten thousand bags of food items across all twenty local government areas within the state.
The food items being distributed include forty thousand bags of maize, forty thousand bags of millet, twenty thousand bags of rice, and ten thousand bags of sugar to cater to the needs of the state’s citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.
This distribution effort is a joint initiative involving both the state and federal governments, with the aim of supporting beneficiaries in all three hundred and twenty three wards in the state through the Ramadan Palliative program.

In his remarks at the commencement of the exercise at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed highlighted that this initiative is intended to provide essential relief materials to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Governor Bala emphasised that over two billion naira was spent on procuring the food items and reassured the public that a dedicated committee has been set up to ensure a fair and effective distribution of the palliative resources.
Governor Bala called for continued support and prayers to help overcome the economic challenges the state is facing, while reaffirming his commitment to the well-being of all citizens.
Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the State Commissioner for Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, also reiterated that the palliative resources will be extended to various groups including civil servants, security personnel, civil society organisations, orphans, and vulnerable individuals as part of the government’s comprehensive support during Ramadan.
