The Yobe State Government has announced a 24-hour curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns, effective immediately, due to the deteriorating security situation in the areas.

According to a press statement signed by Brigadier General Dahiru Abdussallam (Retired), Special Adviser to the Governor on security matters, the curfew is aimed at restoring peace and order in the affected towns.

The decision comes after reports of hoodlums taking advantage of the ongoing protests to vandalise and loot government and private properties.
