Troops kill 2 bandits during ransom collection, rescue victims
Soldiers have shot and killed two bandits while attempting to collect ₦1.5 million ransom to release four abducted victims at Mai-Iddo village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
According to report, the four captives, comprising three females and a child, who were abducted at a farm last week, were rescued by the troops.
A community leader from the area confirmed the incident with reporters on Tuesday.
He said the two bandits were killed after their leader ordered them to go to a location where a relation of the abducted victims was expected to drop the ransom.

He said, “The arrangements had been concluded with the troops with the man who will be taking the ransom to them and a vigilante. On getting to the particular location, the troops took cover.
‘’As two of the bandits came out to pick the ransom, the troops opened fire at them and killed the two of them instantly.”
He said the abducted victims were rescued by the troops and reunited with their families.
As at the time of filing the report, the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to pick up calls or reply to text messages sent to him on the incident.
