FG partners with Tuface Idibia to boost small businesses, job creation

Story by Victor Itodo ABUH

The Office of the Vice-President has partnered with music legend, Innocent Idibia (Tuface), to mobilise public support for small businesses and create jobs in Nigeria.

The agreement was signed by Tuface and Mr Tola Adekunle-Johnson, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, in Abuja.

Adekunle-Johnson explained that Tuface’s role as Brand Ambassador would help promote the National MSMEs Awards and other job-creating initiatives like the Expanded National MSMEs Clinics and Shared Hubs.

He said, “We thought of how best we can sustain the momentum of creating jobs and promoting all the activities of the MSMEs, awards, hubs, and the single-digit loan.

“Today we are unveiling who I regard as an icon, a legend in the game… Mr. Innocent Idibia (Tuface).”

On his part, Tuface expressed gratitude to President Tinubu’s government for supporting youth and small businesses. He pledged to spread awareness about MSMEs, especially to young people, saying, “I appreciate the vote of confidence. It is a very good move in a good direction.

“This will bring value to individuals, communities, and the country as a whole,” he said.

Mrs Sarah Ajayi from NAFDAC praised the decision, saying, “Entertainment is what attracts the youth, so having Tuface as our brand ambassador is a good one.”

Mr Chukwuemeka Nwakile of Access Bank also reaffirmed the bank’s support for youth job initiatives, promising to back the government’s job creation plans with action. “We will go all out to ensure that the job creation mantra of the government is not just by word of mouth but by action,” he said.
