5 men charged with stealing ₦25m Milo in Ogun
Five men appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Monday, charged with stealing a truckload of Milo products worth ₦25 million.
The defendants—Temidire Ramon, 35; Aminu Yusuf, 26; Olusola Opadare, 35; Oludayo Adeleye, 38; and Amodu Jimoh, 51—are facing charges of theft and conspiracy.
According to prosecutor Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, the offences were committed on October 13, 2020, at Agbara, Ogun State, when the defendants conspired to steal the Milo products from Nestlé Nigeria.
The prosecutor stated that the offences violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006. The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Mr. O.A. Onagoruwa granted bail to the defendants in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with two sureties required for each, also in like sum. He specified that the sureties must be gainfully employed, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide proof of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The case was adjourned to December 12 for a hearing.
