IRGC launches strike on Kuwait air base as Iran escalates response to alleged US military violations

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reportedly carried out missile and drone strikes targeting a military air base in Kuwait in what Tehran described as retaliation for new “US violations” in the Gulf region, marking a major escalation in Middle East tensions.

According to Iranian state-linked media reports, the operation targeted facilities believed to be connected to American military operations, including the Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. The IRGC claimed the strikes formed part of its ongoing retaliatory military campaign known as “True Promise.”

Iranian military officials alleged that the attack damaged radar systems, communication infrastructure, fuel depots, and logistical facilities linked to US forces stationed in the Gulf. However, neither Kuwaiti authorities nor the United States military had officially confirmed the scale of the damage or possible casualties as of the time of filing this report.

The reported strike comes amid rising hostilities between Iran and the United States following weeks of military confrontations, regional threats, and heightened security alerts across the Middle East. Analysts warn that the latest development could further destabilize the Gulf region, particularly countries hosting major US military installations.

Kuwait, alongside Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, hosts key American military facilities used for regional operations and strategic defense coordination. Security experts say any direct attack on such bases could significantly widen the scope of the ongoing regional crisis.

The escalation has also renewed concerns over global energy security and maritime stability around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international oil shipping route that has repeatedly become a flashpoint during periods of confrontation between Tehran and Washington.
