The Chief Planning Officer at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN’s) Planning Unit, Mr Abdulrasheed Dauda Gidado, is now a fellow of the Institute of Planning Nigeria (IPN).
His investiture as IPN’s Fellow was held during a ceremony, held at Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre, Ibadan.
According to the President of the Institute, Dr McCarthy Ijiebor and the Registrar, Mrs Judith Gbadamosi, the honour is in recognition of Gidado’s noteworthy contributions, commitment and outstanding achievements in the planning profession.
Other recipients of the Fellow of IPN at the event included Professor Idris Amali, DVC Federal University Lafia, Professor Richard Mayungbe, Head of the Nigerian chapter of the Institute of forensic accountants, Dr Husaini Subairu of Kwara State University (KWASU) and Umate Malah of University of Maiduguri among others.
The 54-year-old Abdulrasheed Gidado is a member, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and attended the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
He possesses a B.Sc degree in Economics, a post-graduate Diploma in Environmental Management, and also, a Masters in Development Studies.
Between 2006 and 2008, Gidado, a member of several Committees at UNILORIN, was the Audit Officer at Stabilini Visinomi Limited, in Lagos State.
He also worked as Tax Auditor at Olusola Adekanalo Tax Consultants; Economics Teacher and Vice President in Yobe State and was Planning Officer at the University of Maiduguri before his present position at the University of Ilorin.
He has attended conferences and workshops locally and internationally.
Gidado, who loves walking and playing table tennis, is blessed with four children.
