Gov Sani Bello condoles with Lagos Governor over death of Lateef Jakande

Chairman North Central Governors Forum (NCGF) and Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello has condoled with his Lagos State counterpart Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the entire Lagosians over the death of the first democratically elected Governor of the State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.

Governor Sani Bello in a condolence message, described late Alhaji Jakande as an accomplished administrator, a seasoned journalist whose legacy has left an indelible mark in the development of Lagos State and the country at large.

He said despite the old age of the deceased, he was still relevant not just to the people of his State but to the entire nation pointing out that his wealth of knowledge and experience will be greatly missed.

“Late Baba Jakande was a great man who has accomplished a lot in the development of our Nation. He was elderly and relevant not only to Lagosians but to all of us as a Nation. His wealth of knowledge and experience will be seriously missed”, he said.

The Chairman NCGF prayed Allah to forgive all the shortcomings of late Alhaji Jakande and grant his soul Aljanna Firdausi.

He also prayed that Allah will grant his immediate family members, friends and close associates as well the Government of Lagos State the fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Lateef Kayode Jakande was a renowned journalist before becoming the first democratically elected Governor of Lagos State, he was also a former Minister for Works under late Sani Abacha’s military regime.

He died at the age of 91.
