Gunmen have killed a 25-year-old man, identified as Sabo Yusuf, and abducted his mother and brother in the Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
It was learned that the gunmen yesterday, stormed the house of Alhaji Abubakar of Kawo Quarters, in Birnin Kudu town, killed one of his sons, and disappeared with one of his wives and an eight-year-old boy.
The spokesman Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Zahraddeen Aminuddeen, confirmed the incident to newsmen, adding that the incident happened at about 0325HRS, at Birnin Kudu town, where unknown persons trespassed, attacked and shot one of Abubakar’s sons in the chest before abducting his wife and another son to an unknown destination.
Aminudeen said the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kudu by the police, where he was certified dead by the doctor on duty.
He said the police was making frantic efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and track the fleeing culprits.
However, the Command called on members of the public to be more vigilant, as well as report any suspicious movement of persons to the police for appropriate action.
