FIDA Yobe branch elects new executives

The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Yobe branch, elected officials cleared by the national body to run its affairs for the next two years in a successful election monitored by Justice Amina Shehu in Damaturu over the weekend.

Those elected, according to a statement signed by the Chairperson of the electoral committee, Barrister Aisha Haruna Godowoli are Barrister Hannatu Faruk Jauro as Chairperson, Barrister Hadiza Aliyu as Vice Chairperson and Barrister Aisha Isa as Secretary.

The new executives were sworn in after the election by Her Worship, Asiya Abubakar.
The statement further said “We are very much obliged to FIDA Nigeria for the time, support and guidance received that led to the success of today’s great activity. We also urge FIDA Nigeria to consider and clear the remaining offices so as to conduct the by-election soon.”

The statement also recognised other members of the electoral committee as Barrister Fatima Alhaji Mohammed as secretary and Barrister Hafsat Bala Muhammad as member.
