How soldiers attacked bandits leader, Turji, killed scores in Sokoto

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

Scores of armed men belonging to Bello Turji in a Sokoto forest were successfully eliminated yesterday by soldiers. There are allegations that their leader, Turji escaped and is yet to be found.

Neptune Prime recalls that some travelers in Sokoto were attacked by bandits and several of them burnt to ashes.

President Buhari had held a meeting with Governor Tambuwal expressing his dismay while condemning the barbaric act when addressing the PDP governor.

Upon his return to Sokoto, Governor Tambuwal gave the Army a clear directive to move in and catch Turji and his men.

Working on this directive, the Nigerian troops attacked the forest where the bandits dwell, and successfully killed many of the criminals and arrested others.

It is still unclear if the notorious bandit leader, Turji was killed in the raid or still alive and free.

To the disappointment of Sokoto citizens, a singer recently composed a song praising Turji as a good community leader.
