Adamawa police parade 18 kidnappers, 7 rapists, others, recover tractor, cash, weapons

Adamawa State Police Command has paraded 18 suspected kidnappers, 8 armed robbery suspects, 7 suspected rapists and 3 carjackers.

The command also recovered 3 AK 47 rifles, 1 G3 rifle, 199 rounds of live ammunition, 5 cartridges, 1 tractor, 2 other vehicles and N60,000 cash.

Parading the suspects at the state police command on Tuesday, the commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adeyanju noted that the feat followed a relentless effort by the gallant officers and men of the command with much support from the government and the good people of the state.

“It is with great pleasure, I invite you this morning to present to you another set of achievements made by the Adamawa State police command from July to date.

“These achievements are as a result of the relentless effort/sacrifices made by the gallant officers and men of the command with much support from government and good people of Adamawa State.

“The command so far apprehended 36 suspects for kidnapping activities, armed robbery, extortion, rape, car theft, receiving stolen properties among others.

“Recovery made include three AK 47 rifles, two single barrel guns, 199 round of live ammunition, one G3 rifle, one tractor, two vehicles and a barrel pistol,” he said.

The police command also gave certificate of commendation and award to some residents for cooperating with it in fighting violent crimes in the state.
