The Adamawa State University, Mubi has graduated no fewer than 2,594 graduands at all levels of academic qualifications and degrees with 23 students bagging first-class honours.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Vice-Chancellor of the university, disclosed this at a press conference during the 14th convocation ceremony of the university in Mubi Local Government Area.

Professor Farauta said the graduands have been found worthy in both character and learning and will contribute to the human resources development of the state, nation, and global workforce.

“For the first degrees, we have 23 in the first class category, 639 second class upper division, 1,470 second class lower division, and 255 falls under the third class category, while 21 would be graduating with a pass degree.

“This brings the total number of our first-degree graduands to 2,408. For the postgraduate degrees, where we have the postgraduate diploma, professional masters, masters with research thesis, masters of philosophy and doctor of philosophy respectively, this prestigious university will graduate 186 graduands”, she said.

Farauta said the university had recorded many successes since the last convocation ceremony in 2021 among which is the sustenance of harmonious industrial relationships on campus.

She said the institution had commenced the construction of 96 low-cost houses through the state government in partnership with North East Development Commission, which is at the completion stage.

Similarly, the restored access to Tetfund-sponsored projects completed the electrification of Sahuda Road Campus and the construction of a completely new campus among others.

She further said that the pressing challenge of the institution is funding and management is doing its best to ensure that the university develops.

Farauta also stated that the Adamawa State Government has taken steps to reposition the university to sustain its position of pride as the first state university in the North East by approving many projects.
