Bauchi NAWOJ distributes writing materials to 100 girls in Birshi Fulani

11th October every year is international day of the girl Child, the theme for this year is Digital technology.
The girl child is unique in her own way and needs to discover her potential through, mentoring and guidance, her education is regarded as a huge step in liberating the entire society. These and ever more is part of the reasons for the day.
The Bauchi state chapter of the Nigerian Association of women journalists, in order to celebrate the day donated writing materials to 100 school girls in Birshi Fulani few kilometers from the metropolis of Bauchi.
Presenting the items, the State Chairperson of Nawoj Mrs Bulak Afsa, said is the least the Association can do to boost learning and teaching, she urges the girls to read their books and always listen to their parents, she however commits to improve the welfare of the girl in the manner the Association can.
Principal of the school, Hajiya Maryam Garu was full of praise and urge the group to consider providing desks and chairs for the girls next year.
Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board Subeb represented by the Director School Services Korijo Buba Umar, describe the gesture as one worthy of emulation by other groups.
Korijo says the gesture will improve learning and it is timely.
