Court orders tenant to vacate apartment in Ilorin over unpaid N2,000 rent

An Area Court in Ilorin has ordered Mama Wariz, a tenant, to vacate her rented apartment within three months due to her failure to pay rent.

The presiding Judge, AbdulQadir Ibrahim, has also ordered the tenant to pay all of her owed rent at least one week before vacating the house.

He advised the tenant to vacate the house on or before the agreed date to avoid the embarrassment of forceful eviction.

Counsel to the plaintiff, Rukayat AbdulFatai, informed the court that the tenant owed one month’s rent and did not intend to pay.

Mama Wariz agreed that she owed one month’s rent but pleaded for three months to enable her to move out of the house.

She promised to pay the outstanding rent of N2,000 and the three months’ rent that she would spend before vacating the house.
