Dreaded new sect emerges, sets up headquarters in Kaduna
A new and dangerous sect, known as ACHAD Life Mission International, has emerged in Nigeria, causing concern within the country’s security agencies. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) issued an official alert about the sect in a circular dated January 14, 2025. The sect is described as promoting the restoration of African traditions, and it is not connected to Islam or Christianity, according to the NIS communication.
The sect’s headquarters is based in Kaduna, and its leader, Mr. Yokana, is said to reside in Jos, Plateau State. Intelligence gathered by the NIS has raised serious concerns about the potential involvement of the group in criminal activities, including human trafficking and child separation. The NIS has advised all its directorates, training institutions, commands, and border formations to remain on high alert regarding any signs of the sect’s presence.
The NIS alert further states that the group has been actively recruiting members both within Nigeria and internationally. ACHAD Life Mission International’s doctrine revolves around the restoration of African traditions, and it claims to promote the support of humanity. However, the possibility that the sect may be involved in illicit activities has prompted security officials to closely monitor its operations.

In light of the reported concerns, the NIS has urged immediate action, including the reporting of any sightings or involvement of the sect, and in cases where applicable, arrests should be made. Security agencies are being urged to take the threat seriously and act swiftly in accordance with the law.
The warning has raised alarm within both local and international communities about the growing influence of such groups, whose activities could pose a serious risk to national security and social stability. Authorities are continuing to investigate the full extent of the sect’s operations, including its methods of recruitment and the potential human trafficking or child exploitation activities it may be engaged in.
In the meantime, Nigerian authorities are calling for heightened vigilance across all sectors, urging the public to stay informed and report any suspicious activities related to the group.
