FG orders immediate assessment of flood-damaged Kano-Maiduguri road

The Federal Government has directed the Ministry of Works to urgently assess the damage to Section 111 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road, which was severely affected by recent flooding in Bauchi State.

The ministry’s technical team will evaluate the extent of the damage and develop emergency measures to assist the Malori-Guskuri community.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, highlighted the critical need for prompt project completions funded by the tax credit scheme and announced the termination of Section 1 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road contract with E Contractors due to delays.

Umahi emphasised the necessity of durable road construction and urged greater commitment from all involved parties, including Dangote, BUA, and Mainstream Energy, in ongoing projects.
