For the first time, the Emir of Lafia leads Eid prayers

The Emir of Lafia in Nasarawa State, Justice Dauda Sidi Bage ( rtd ) has for the first time led Muslims in the two supererogatory prayers and delivered the sermon.

The congregation were jubilant when the Monarch step to the front to lead them in the morning prayer which was followed by a sermon.

The Emir who was chosen from among about two dozen other Princes was a Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and vast in Islamic knowledge.

In his sermon, he preaches the responsibility of parents to imbibe discipline on their children and ward and not to let them go astray to become criminals.

Emir Sidi Dauda Bage said, ” The armed youth bedevilling our cities and rural areas are bad elements amongst us, or to be blunt, they are our children and the cause is lack of good parenting by some parents and guardians.

” I am your leader, I want every follower to rise up to the challenge of instilling discipline upon the younger ones under their care, for them to contribute to developing the Emirate and the country at large. He said.

The retired Judge of the Supreme Court later slaughtered his Ram
as exemplified in the teachings of Islam.

A congregant, Alhaji Jamilu Kamil said that he is happy that the Emir is vast in both Islamic and western knowledge as it is a sign that he would lead the people in Justice and equity despite his few years on the throne.
