FUGA approves promotion of 3 dons to readers, 242 others

The Governing Council of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), has approved the promotion of 89 academic staff to various ranks, 129 senior non-teaching staff to various ranks and 24 junior staff to various higher positions.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by Adamu Saleh, Head, Information and Protocol Unit at the council’s regular meeting held on Thursday, 29th September 2022.

The Council during the promotion exercise approved the promotion of 3 senior academics to the rank of readers following receipt of a favourable external assessment report on them.

Those promoted to the rank of readers were: Dr Mathias Ojo, Sociology Department, Dr Yunus Jibrin Hassan, Department of Islamic studies and Dr Adekoyeni Oludare, Home Science and Management.

Commenting on the Council’s decision, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, on behalf of the Council and management of the university, congratulated the newly promoted staff on their well-deserved promotion and urged them to dedicate themselves to the services of the university to justify their promotions.
