Gov. Buni approves construction of 4 new motor parks in Damaturu

Yobe State Governor, His Excellency, Honourable Mai Mala Buni has approved the construction of four new motor parks in Damaturu, the state capital, to help ease congestion, create jobs and improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.

In a press statement signed by Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Digital & Strategic Communications to Governor Buni, the new motor parks will be sited in the 4 exits of the state capital along Maiduguri, Potiskum, Gashua and Gujba roads accordingly.

The Director General, Yobe State Geographical Information Service (YOGIS), Dr Abdullahi Hassan Gana, who disclosed this said Governor Buni has approved for the sites and compensation of the 4 New Motor Parks (Tasha) in Damaturu the Yobe State capital.

According to the DG, Governor Buni has also directed that 1 hectare of land be allocated to Damaturu grain traders within the new Damaturu motor park along Potiskum road to conduct their business.

He lamented that the establishment of the new motor parks will create more opportunities to small traders, taxi drivers, tricycle riders, and will go along way in improving the revenue of the state.

According to Gana, the aim of establishing the new motor parks is to allow commuters, travelers to have access to their various destinations and reduce congestion in the parks.
