Gov. Buni visits army formation in Buni Gari, supports families of fallen heroes (Pictures)

Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, has on Thursday visited the headquarters of the 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Gari to sympathise with the formation over a recent attack by insurgents.
The governor described as unfortunate the resurgence of insurgency and the attacks on security formations.
He commiserated with the army and families of the deceased personnel, saying, “The gallant officers did not die in vain; they died gallantly defending their fatherland.”
Governor Buni donated ₦2 million to each of the families of the fallen heroes, and ₦1 million each to those who sustained injuries.

Buni said the government would also provide educational support to the children of the deceased soldiers.
Similarly, the governor announced a donation of ₦50m to be shared among the troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Gari, in addition to foodstuffs, mattresses, blankets, and other sundry items donated by the state government.
He reassured the troops of the government’s support and cooperation from the people of the state to the army and other security agencies to effectively fight and defeat the resurgence.
Gov. Buni directed the reinforcement of security around the Brigade.
“We will continue to complement your efforts to improve security around your formations,” he said.
The Brigade Commander, Gen. Usman Ahmed, who conducted the governor around the formation, commended him for the uncommon show of concern and care to the soldiers.
