Gov. Fintiri sacks members of Jimeta Modern Market management board

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the dissolution of the management board of the Jimeta Modern Market in the state.

The dissolution was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, in Yola.

Governor Fintiri said with the dissolution, the chairman and members of the Board have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

He also directed the dissolved board members to hand over all government properties in their care to the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry who will oversee the operations of the market.

“The Ministry of Commerce and Industry must now ensure a seamless transition and work diligently to maintain the market’s functionality,” Governor Fintiri said.

He further urged the relevant authorities to prioritise the welfare of market stakeholders and work towards creating a conducive business environment that fosters economic growth and development in Adamawa State.

“The market’s success is crucial to the state’s economic well-being, and we expect the ministry to take all necessary steps to ensure its optimal operation,” the statement read.
