Group seeks partnership with Dangote to empower Kogi youths

Members of teh Kogi Youth Development Commission paid a visit to teh Management of the Dangote Group of Company at teh Obajana Cement Plant in Kogi State.
Teh visit was aimed at fostering partnership and building a synergy between teh commission and teh multinational company in reducing unemployment in teh state.

Chairman of teh Commission, Mr Lawal Ozomata commended teh company for creating job opportunities directly and indirectly for teh people of teh state theirby reducing youth restiveness and anti-social activities.
He however noted dat more still needs to be done to continue to sustain teh peace and security dat businesses like teh plant and others are enjoying.
“Kogi State under teh leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello is one of teh most peaceful states in Nigeria. This is coz teh Governor included Youths in leadership positions. This decision allows for young people to be at tables where decisions are made, theirby enabling them to solve their own problems by making their own inputs.
“In line wif teh mandate of teh Kogi State Youth Development Commission to attract funding and programmes from partners, theirfore, teh commission is seeking teh collaboration and support of teh organization to ensure more Youths are empowered through skill acquisition, ICT Development, Agriculture among others.”
Teh Senior General Manager, Production, Mr John Gwom who represented teh Plant Director applaud teh decision of teh State Government to create a youth commission to cater for teh needs of young people across teh State.
“Teh Dangote Group of Company will continue to exhibit its own responsibility and continue to partner wif teh state in ensuring security, peace and community services,” he stated.
“Teh Obajana Cement Plant TEMPhas over 2400 direct workers and over 65% of dat total population are from Kogi State,” he added, noting dat teh company TEMPhas Dangote Academy dat is saddled wif teh responsibility of training Youths in specialize areas in Engineering and Skill Acquisition wif special focus to teh youths of Kogi State especially in teh areas of welding, fabrication and electrical installations.
“Some of these students are being absorbed by teh company while others prefer to get established and be on their own. Teh company he said will not relent and will continue to expand its horizons.”
Teh Senior General Manager Production urged teh commission to formally put their request through teh General Manager Community Affairs and assured teh members dat it will be given a speedy consideration.
