I use human parts for rituals, man in Osun state confesses to police

A 37-year-old man, Adegboye Opeyemi, was arrested by the Osun State Police Command after being found in possession of human parts, which he confessed were intended for use in rituals.

The suspect, detained on Ifedayo Street in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, was caught with a human skull and other body parts.

Police operatives intercepted Opeyemi and detained him for questioning regarding his unlawful possession of human remains.

During interrogation, Opeyemi admitted to purchasing the skull from a cemetery worker in Lagos State and transporting it to Osun State for ritualistic purposes.

The Osun State Command’s Police Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest, noting that Opeyemi is undergoing further interrogation.

“I was arrested in possession of a human skull and other parts. I needed it for rituals. That’s why I requested it from my friend who works at a cemetery in Lagos. He sent it to me from Lagos,” the suspect was quoted as saying.

While the specific rituals intended for the human parts were not disclosed, Opalola mentioned that efforts are ongoing to apprehend Opeyemi’s accomplice.

The suspect will be charged under the Criminal Laws of Osun State following the completion of the police investigation.
