I want one of my commissioners to succeed me – El-Rufa’i

Story from Saleh INUWA

Kaduna State Governor, Mal. Nasiru El-rufa’i has finally revealed why he removed Muhammad Sani Dattijo as Chief of Staff and deployed him to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning as Commissioner.

The Governor, in a meeting with his cabinet, noted that in fact he is working hard to ensure that one of his commissioners succeed him as governor, so the deployment of Sani Dattijo has nothing to do with his argument recently with former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

“We met recently and appraised our ministries, we discovered that since my former chief of staff, Sani Dattijo, was moved to government house, the ministry he left behind has been messed up, so we decided to send him back to the ministry so that he will put the ministry in shape.”

Noting that his good friend, former Emir of Kano had nothing to do with what is happening in his government.

It would be recalled that the former Emir of Kano was not happy being referred to as such by the chief of staff. This was an issue that people laughed over and that was the end of that. “I said I am working hard for one of my commissioners to become the next governor, and Sani Dattijo is now a commissioner, so people should read our body language”.
